3 Eggs
1 1/2 Cups Buttermilk
1 Tsp. Soda
1 3/4 Cups Flour
2 Tsp. Baking Powder
1/2 Tsp. Salt
1/2 Cup Soft Shortening
Heat waffle iron while mixing batter. Beat eggs well. Beat in remaining ingredients with beater until smooth. Pour from cup onto center of hot waffle iron. Spread to cover surface. Bake until steaming stops or iron notifies. Lift carefully with fork. Serve hot with butter and syrup. Makes 8 waffles.
