1/2 Cup Soft Butter

2 Cups Sugar

4 Eggs

1/2 Cup Sour Cream

Zest of 2 Lemons

1/4 Cup Lemon Juice

1/2 Tsp. Soda

3 Tsp. Baking Powder

4 1/2 Cups Flour

Frosting

1/4 Cup Soft Butter

2 1/2 Cups Powdered Sugar

Juice of 2 Lemons.

Preheat oven to 350°. Line baking sheet with parchment paper. In a large bowl beat butter until smooth. Add sugar and beat until light and fluffy. Add eggs, sour cream, lemon zest, and lemon juice and beat until combined.

Add the soda, baking powder, and flour and beat just until combined. Dough will be the consistency of thick cake batter and sticky and soft.

Drop by heaping tablespoonfuls onto prepared baking sheet. Try to make drops as round as possible. Bake 15 minutes or until no longer glistening in the center. Cool completely. Cookies can be glazed with a mixture of lemon juice and powdered sugar.

Frosting:

Beat butter until smooth. Add sugar and just enough lemon juice to make a smooth, thick frosting. When cookies are completely cool spread with frosting.
