3 Scant Cups Sugar |
1 Quart Washed Chokecherries |
1 Quart Gin or Vodka |

Wash chokecherries in cool running water. Place in gallon jar. Cover with gin or vodka and add sugar. Stir well and let sit at room temperature. Shake or stir container every day for thirty days. Strain with cheesecloth and bottle. Place away for light and let mellow for a couple of months. Can be used to create many of the chokecherry cocktails found on this site or poured over ice cream.
